Admission to IIT Bombay is highly competitive and merit-based, with selection conducted through national-level entrance examinations. The institute follows Government of India norms for eligibility, reservation and seat allocation. Candidates must qualify the respective entrance exam and participate in centralized counselling to secure admission in undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral programs
For B.Tech programs, candidates must qualify JEE Main and then clear JEE Advanced.
Eligible candidates participate in JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling for seat allocation.
Seat allotment is based on rank, category, preferences and seat availability.
